Lori S Zilko, 62, of Danville passed away June 17, 2024, at home. Lori was born March 31, 1962, in Danville to John R Zilko and Nancy S Davis, both preceding her in death. Lori is survived by her sister, Amy Zilko (Mike O’Neil), her stepfather, Jim Davis, her aunt, Norma Kreidler, her uncle, Ed Hester, stepbrothers Erik and Randy Davis, stepsister, Lori Gee, her dog, Sunny, and many special cousins and friends. Preceding her in death are her paternal grandparents, John and Ruth Zilko, maternal grandparents, John and Florence Hester, and uncle, Ron Kreidler, all of Danville.
Lori was born and raised in Rabbittown. She would tell you it was the best neighborhood to grow up in. She had neighborhood friends she grew up with and stayed connected with through the years. She went to Douglas and St. Paul’s grade schools and graduated from Danville High School in 1980. After high school, Lori moved to Greensboro, North Carolina and then Jacksonville, Florida and then returned to Danville. Lori worked in the lumber industry for most of her career.
She was an animal lover and had several special pets throughout her life, Sammy, Lynyrd, Sebastian, Bozlee, and Sunny. She loved the ocean and enjoyed traveling to the beaches in Florida.
Services will be July 5, 2024, at 11 am in the chapel at Resurrection Cemetery, 811 Wendt Street, Danville, IL. with Father Timothy Sauppé officiating. The visitation will be one hour before the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Danville Humane Society, 1225 N Collett Street, Danville, IL 61832 in Lori’s name.
