Lowell Arthur Erp

Lowell “Pode” Arthur Erp, 81, of Fairmount went to his heavenly home at 6:53 AM (March 28th, 2023). Lowell was born March 6th, 1942, the son of Leslie and Imogene Erp. He married Betty Guthrie (Mother of James and Jenna Erp) in 1977, they divorced in 1985. He loved her until his last breath. He is survived by one son; James Leslie Erp of Fairmount; one daughter: Jenna Kay Erp of Westville; two stepdaughters: Amy Carrington and Mindy Carrington; three grandsons: Aaron Bell, Jordan Brown, and Schuyler Nevels; three granddaughters: Paige Erp, Paiton Erp, and Sydney Erp; 6 step grandchildren; 10 step great grandchildren; two brothers: Orval (Doris) Erp and Kevin (Linda) Erp; and one sister: Virginia Darlene (Cleve) High. He also has many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews that he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his loving parents, one sister: Mary (Art) Turner; two brothers: John (June) Baird and Jerald (Sharrie) Erp; his maternal grandparents Newton (Harriet) Baird; his paternal grandparents Milton (Vina) Erp; and his beloved dogs Cheyenne and Bruno.

He served his country in the United States Army. An aerial flare damaged his vision and resulted in him becoming completely blind halfway through his life. He never let that slow him down though. He liked to garden, cook, and tell his jokes. He enjoyed talking on the phone with his many friends and loved ones. He had many “bonus kids” that he loved and cherished.
