Marc A. Valangeon

On Tuesday, November 10th, 2020, Marc A. Valangeon, loving husband, father and grandfather, passed away at the age of 68 with all his family by his side.  

Marc was born on May 23, 1952 in Danville IL. to Rene’ and Margaret (Slifer) Valangeon.  On July 22nd, 1972, he married the love of his life, Brenda (Woods) Valangeon.  They raised 2 daughters, Amanda (Jessie) Capps, Margaret “Maggie” (Craig) Smith and 1 son, Marc (Ashley) Valangeon II.  He was blessed with 5 grandchildren, Austin Capps, Alexis Arnett, Leighton Arnett, Taylor Valangeon, and Kade Valangeon.  He loved his dogs dearly, Gidget, Gizmo and Dixie.

He was preceded in death by his father, his mother, and his two brothers.  

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Brenda (Woods) Valangeon, his sisters, Barbara (David) Cline, Laura Styer, Sandy Valangeon (sister-in-law), Linda Skille Valangeon (sister-in-law), 3 children, 5 grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews.  

His favorite pastime was watching the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears and University of Illinois Basketball and Football.  He always knew every stat of any player that played the game.  

He worked at Shaff Implement in Urbana, IL. for 39 years and retired in August 2019.  He enjoyed retired life while camping with his beloved wife and attending all his grandkids’ activities and sporting events.  He enjoyed Cahill’s restaurant for breakfast almost every morning and took several trips per week to Menards for honey-do projects. 

We will miss you and love you always. 

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
