Marian L (Peterson) Wease

Marian L. Wease, 94, of Urbana, IL passed away May 12, 2025. She was born in Crown Pointe, IN, on January 14, 1931, to Marion and Viola Rosetta (Blankenship) Peterson.

Marion met Roland Edward Wease in his hometown of Cedar Lake, IN, fell in love, and they were married for 52 ½ years until his passing in 2001. Marian dedicated her early life to being a homemaker, raising 11 children. Roland’s job took them all over the United States and over the years they lived in Oregon, Wyoming, Georgia, South Carolina, Indiana, and Illinois. Later in life, Marian worked for Eastland Suites and enjoyed her job as a laundry attendant. She was loved by everyone she worked with, made many friends, and enjoyed attending the Christmas parties, often being the lucky winner of the company raffles. Marian was an active and dedicated member of St. Patrick’s Church in Urbana for over 20 years.

Marian had a strong will and with that she beat diabetes by diligently watching her diet. She enjoyed the mountains and going on country drives with her husband Roland. After his passing she still enjoyed driving through the country marveling at the beauty of nature. One of her favorite vacations she took was to Pigeon Forge, TN, with her daughter, Jennifer, and had an enjoyable experience at Dollywood and Hatfields and McCoy. Marion liked to go on walks and read, always asking for reading material at the doctor’s office while in the waiting room, putting together 3D puzzles, completing the White House and the Capitol Building, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Marian was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Roland, and son, Terry.

She is survived by her children, Mary, Caroline, Brenda, Darlene, Gloria, Jennifer, Cindy, Darrell, Daniel, and Michael; many, many grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Per her request, no services will be held.
