Michael Andrew White

Michael “Mike” White, 62, of Westville IL passed away at 8:35 PM. Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was born January 1, 1957 in Danville IL, the son of Thomas White and JoAnn Shapuras. 

Mike was proceeded in death by both of his parents, Thomas White and JoAnn Shapuras as well as an older brother Tom White. 

Mike left behind his beloved children Wade (Taylor) White from Terre Haute IN, Torrie (Clark) Teague from Groves TX, Erin (Sam) Hagaman from Las Vegas NV, Dustin (Tracy) White from Hoopeston IL. Grandchildren Colby White, Wade White Jr., Camden Meadlo, Larissa Teague, Wendy Teague, Desireigh Teague, Houston Hagaman, Ryan Hagaman, Destiny DuVall, Chevelle White, Jameson White as well as two great grandchildren Aiden Patton and expected Baby Q. in June, a sister DiAnn Cottle, a nephew Justin Cottle and a very close friend Felina Hardy. As well as many friends. 

Mike was employed by Lebanon Chemical and previously by Newport Army Ammunition Plant as a fire fighter. He served the Georgetown-Ridge Farm community as a police officer, EMT and volunteer fire fighter and was a member of the Sons of The American Legion for 16 years. 

Mike really enjoyed talking and visiting with his children, grandchildren and loved his Cardinals. He also enjoyed good laughs and conversations with friends at the Brunswick and loved his Westville community. 

In Mike’s spare time he really enjoyed riding his Harley, bowling, as well as playing in league softball. 

Mike will be missed by all that knew him especially by his children that he loved dearly. For all who knew him they knew he was a private man and to honor his final wishes there will not be a service or funeral but a celebration of life. A memorial to celebrate Mike’s life will be held at the Brunswick in Westville IL from 5-7 pm. on Sunday, April 14th, 2019.
