Michael "Mike" Ray Dalton

Michael Ray Dalton, 77, passed away in his sleep Saturday January 10, 2026. He was born May 14,1948, in Champaign IL to Ronald E. Dalton and Cecilia Wilson, and was the second oldest of four children. 

Mike enlisted in the US Navy in January 1968 and served as a River Rat in Vietnam. He was proud to have served in the Navy for 20 years and retired as an E-7 on July 31, 1988, at the Naval Air Station in Sigonella Sicily.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, and youngest brother, Patrick Dalton.

He is survived by his two children, Christopher Michael Dalton and Annette (Brad) Hartzel; grandchildren, Dakotah, Lydia, Gabriel, and Lily; great grandchildren, Michael and Chloe; sister, Sharon (Bill) Lemay; brother, Richard Dalton; and nieces and nephews, Mindy, Brandon, Donna, Andrew, Ian, and Sean.

A private family graveside service will be held at Danville National Cemetery where Mike will be laid to rest near his father, grandfather and brothers in arms per his wishes.
