Milford Vinson "Slick" Quillen

Milford Vinson Quillen, also known as "Slick" his whole life, age 76, of Georgetown, Illinois, passed away on October 10, 2025 at Carle Hospital from heart and kidney failure.

Slick was a Union Painter for many years. After leaving the union he continued to work up to the year he passed. He was known as a professional and taught his expert skill to many. Slick loved to be outdoors and tinker around in his garage or shed. He was very handy with his hands and could build just about anything. He had a quick temper, and his favorite saying was "Don't start no shit, won’t be no shit", but he also had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need.

Milford V. Quillen was born on September 20,1949 in Kingsport, TN, to Lloyd and Bonnie (Dingus) Quillen. Milford had two wives that preceded him in death, and one special wife that he knew was waiting on him at the heaven gates, Bonnie Lee Quillen. Milford was the last of his generation of Quillen's to live. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, two brothers, a sister, his oldest daughter, Robin Kay Quillen, four grandsons, and a great grandchild.

He is survived by his six children, Robert & Vicki Quillen, John & Yordanka Quillen, Daniel & Jennifer Walton, Mattie & Jeremy Engel, Ashley Bruns, his baby girl who he called the boss, his pride and joy, Kristy Quillen, and a slew of grandchildren and great grandchildren that he thought of every day. He also had a few special friends that became family, Don Prater, Richard Pierce, Pamela Thomas, and Chad Edenburn (The Neighbor).

Per his request, he will be cremated and buried next to his daughter and two grandsons in Atherton Cemetery, 2132 Perrysville Rd., Danville, IL. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. There will be a celebration of life on October 31, 2025 at Satellite Bar, 2001 E. Main St. Danville, IL from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Slick's favorite holiday was Halloween).
