Norma Josephine (Palleschi) Beresford

Norma Josephine Beresford, 69, of Georgetown passed away at home on Wednesday, March 24, 2021.

Norma was born on January 6, 1952, in Danville, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents Edith Palleschi and Fiorino Palleschi, her sister Diana Long and lifelong friend Cathy Paxton.

Norma attended Rockdale Grade School and graduated from Joliet West Highschool at the age of 15. She worked in various professional settings and retired as Manager from the DMV in Tilton, IL.

She is survived by her loving husband, Stephen J Beresford, who spent 35 years married with an unwavering love for Norma. Other survivors include her sister, Evelyn (Robert) Dupriest of Deerfield, brother, Bud Short of Louisiana, cousin, Susan Dancingstar; two daughters, Brianna

(Darrin) Alexander of Kingman, Stephanie Beresford of Georgetown; and four grandchildren, Levi, Kenzie, Quentin and Nora.

Norma loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved all things having to do with flowers and gardening, John Lennon, the Beatles, dancing, and listening to her husband and his bandmates. Norma spent years supporting her daughters in the things they loved including coaching Destination Imagination for 7 years.

In addition to her family, she had many friends that she considered the same. She will be greatly missed by us all.

Norma's family and friends will honor her with a Celebration of Life held at the Georgetown Fairground Banquet Center in Georgetown, IL. The celebration will be held on July 10, 2021 from noon to 4:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Vermilion County Handicap Association.
