Orlis Love (Gordon) Sisson, 95 years of age passed away at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, IL, on the evening of May 16, 2025. She was born in Ohio on March 20, 1930, to Orlis (Parsons) Gordon and William McKinley Gordon. When Love was three years old, her family moved to Danville, IL where she attended school and later worked at St. Elizabeth hospital. She was married to Lawrence George Sisson, and together they had two sons, George Monroe Sisson, and David Lee Sisson and one daughter, Kathleen Anne (Sisson) Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband.
Love was a very generous, caring and compassionate woman towards children. She was a loving mother and grandmother leaving many children & great grandchildren. She was also a loving foster mother to many local Danville children. As well, Love worked at several of Danville nursing homes throughout her life.
Love will be laid to rest next to her husband at Atherton Cemetery on May 22, 2025, there will not be a funeral as arranged by her and Rortvedt Funeral Services & Crematory of Tilton. Online condolences: www.rortvedtfuneralservices.com.
