Rev. Paul Alan Paskewitz, 91, of Danville, passed away at 1:30 p.m. Friday (June 28, 2024) at Hawthorne Inn of Danville. He was born May 27, 1933, in Livermore, CA, the son of Samuel & Rose Paskewitz. Paul’s family moved to Mahnomen, MN, settling on their dairy farm. Paul left the farm to attend college in Yankton, SD, studying Religion and History.
As a young man, he hitchhiked to Bangor, ME where he completed his seminary, later becoming a United Methodist minister, serving 13 churches in his lifelong career (10 in IL). He married Estella Enos on May 27, 1983. Their passions were helping people and traveling. He is survived by a sister, Mavis Klubunde; a son, Tim Paskewitz; daughters, Dr. Susan Paskewitz (Bill Barker) and Sharon Paskewitz; stepchildren Melanie Enos and John Enos; grandchildren Claire Barker, Zach Frazier (Kjersti Emerson-Frazier), Meghann Shelato, Sean Enos and Caitlyn Enos; great-grandson, Henrik VanderZalm; and several beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Jean Radke, and his wife.
His joys in life were leading people to Jesus, gardening, fishing, and attending his grandchildren’s activities. Paul loved to play chess, board games, and pinochle. Paul was also an avid Cubs fan.
