Penny Jo Ollis

Penny Ollis of Champaign, Illinois, passed away at Carle Foundation Hospital on March 21, 2026. She was born on February 27, 1960 in Danville, Illinois to Eleanor (Sykes) and Raymond Ollis. She enjoyed Bingo, playing cards, watching classic sitcoms and visiting with friends and family, both in person and on the phone. 

Penny had two sons, Jay Ollis and Rob Richter. She is survived by her son, Jay (Nikki Bogart) Ollis; daughter in law, Chelsea Richter; siblings, Darrell Ollis, Tammi Huff and Jerri Taylor; her grandchildren, Rheanna (Tucker) Pierce, Courtney Ollis, and Nolan “Fox” Richter.

Penny was preceded in death by her beloved son, Rob Richter, her parents, Eleanor (Sykes) and Raymond Ollis; her siblings, Crystal Rodgers, Mildred Hines, Raymond (Sunny) Ollis Jr., Tracy Ollis and Lila Tomaw.

Per Penny’s wishes, no services will be held. A Celebration of Life for family and friends will be held at a later date.
