Rebecca "Bekah" Sue (Staffeld) Moss

Rebecca (Bekah) Sue Moss (Staffeld), 67, of Danville, Illinois, died on July 25, 2022 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois.  She was born on July 14, 1955 in Centralia, Illinois, to Donald and Eleanor (Swain) Staffeld.  Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Danville, Disabled American Veterans, or the Vermilion County Animal Shelter.

Bekah is survived by a sister, Donna Starkey (Larry) of Ashland, Ohio, a sister, Lynn Batchelor (James) of Manito, Illinois, a nephew, Mike Starkey (Lori), a nephew, Jonathan Batchelor, a niece, Rachel Brogan (Brian), a niece, Chelsea Uselton (Whitney), and a niece, Deborah Czarnecki (Erik) as well as many great nieces and nephews.

Bekah graduated from Northwest Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and worked at Comer Children’s Hospital.  Bekah entered the Coast Guard June 21, 1981 and separated June 21, 1985.  During her service, Bekah worked as a dental technician and in search and rescue after completion of basic training.

Following completion of her duty, Bekah received a Master’s Degree in social work from the University of Connecticut and worked as a psychiatric nurse and as a case manager in skilled care.

Bekah was an avid lover of animals and enjoyed doing art work.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 30th, 2022 at 12 noon at Trinity Lutheran Church 824 East Main Street, Danville, IL with the funeral following at 1:00 p.m.

Pastor Kent Tibben will officiate.
