Richard "Richie" L. Dicken Jr., 56, of Water Valley, Miss., formerly of Danville, passed away May 17, 2020, at his home.
Born March 30, 1964, he was the son of Richard L. (Terri) Dicken and Carol (Don) Broderick.
Survivors include his parents; his sister, Michelle (Scott) Hoyt; daughters, Ashley, Amanda, Brittany and Maddie Grace; three stepchildren whom he raised as his own, Adrienne, Coryenne and his little boy Dylan; six grandchildren, Joey Dicken, Kaiden Grigspy, Izabella Pichiko, Sophia Pichiko, Zaylei Holt and Jaylin Milton; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins; and his dog, Cole.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Cecil and Dorothy Myers, and Hubert and Beulah "Boots" Powell; two uncles, Perry "Buddy" Dicken and Kenneth Dicken; and aunts, Glenda Hobaugh, Sierra Dicken, and a special aunt, Peggy Bonebrake.
Richie has many loved ones who will miss him dearly.
Richie graduated from Danville High School in 1981. He then went on to become a painter/drywall finisher - a trade he learned from his father early on. He last worked for a building contractor in Mississippi.
Richie's hobbies were fishing, hunting, looking for crawdads and hunting mushrooms. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on September 26th at 3:00 P.M. at Second Church of Christ, 3350 E. Voorhees St., Danville, IL, celebrating the lives of Shelly Hoyt and her brother, Richie. Due to Covid restrictions, all attending must wear masks and practice social distancing.
