Richard D. Gose, 78, of Danville passed away October 6, 2022. He was born on November 9, 1943, in Danville, IL, the son of George and Betty (Byram) Gose.
Richard graduated from Danville High School in 1961 and became a railroad engineer at the age of 18, following in his father’s footsteps. He retired from the railroad after 41 years of faithful service and joined the Army in 1965, proudly serving his country, and upon his completion was discharged as an honored veteran. Richard married his love, Patricia Perzee in 1974 and was a member of the McKinley Methodist Church. He enjoyed driving around Danville and seeing the progress of new developments in his hometown, as well as having coffee with friends and eating at Texas Roadhouse with his family. In his younger years he liked to camp and fish on family vacations. His interests were always present around current events.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Carol (Gose) Tuggle.
He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia; son, Rick (Kay) Gose of Danville, IL; daughters, Rebecca Hathaway and Jennifer (Mike) Bower of Danville, IL; brother, Douglas (Marilyn) Gose of Aurora, IL; 5 nephews, Jeffrey and David Tuggle, Scott, Brad and Jeff Gose; 5 granddaughters, Devyn, Traci, Jennifer, Miranda and Micheala; 9 great grandsons, Nathan, Sam, Brandon, Danny, Phoenix, Gage, Keene, Ezrah and Priest; and 1 great granddaughter, Alina.
Graveside services will be at Noon Friday, November 11, 2022 at Spring Hill Cemetery with Pastor Raymie Gordon Officiating.
