Robert (Bobby) Carnaghi
November 22, 1969 – April 18, 2025
Robert (Bobby) Carnaghi, 55, of Westville, Illinois, passed away on April 18, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Bobby was first and foremost a devoted husband, father, and Papaw. He was passionate about dirt‑track racing and fishing. You could find him many days paddling his kayak on local waters and many nights under the lights at the racetrack with his children. He took great joy in attending all of his grandchildren’s events and activities. His laughter and kindness left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Tammy (Ronk) Carnaghi; his mother, Monica Butts; his father, Louis “Butch” Carnaghi (Nancy); his sister, Deanna (Bryan) Crain; his children, Arron (Katie), Heather, Cody (Ashley), Tyler, and Ryan; and seven grandchildren, who were the light of his life.
Bobby was preceded in death by his grandparents, Emil and Doris Butts and Louis and Thelma Carnaghi; his in‑laws, Floyd and Linda Ronk; his brother‑in‑law, Floyd Ronk Jr.; his aunt, Rita Carnaghi (Charles); his uncles, Willard Dale Butts and Larry Dean Butts; and his grandson, Easton.
Visitation will be this Thursday April 24, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with funeral services proceeding directly afterward, all at the Danville, Illinois, Veterans Affairs Chapel. Please dress casually—just the way Bobby would have wanted. If you have a racing T‑shirt, wear it in his honor.
Bobby will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His spirit lives on in the hearts of his family.
