Robert Leighton Emery

Robert "Bob" Emery age 70 peacefully passed away Friday, February 7^th, 2020. Robert was a devoted and loving son, brother, father, grandpa, and friend. Bob had an infectious spirit and generous ways. 

    We believe that he did not in fact, lose his battle with cancer. Rather since the cancer left at the same time, we are considering it a tie. 

    Bob had the heart of a creator. He was an accomplished woodworker. He loved to tackle any creative challenge. 

    He had many passions in his lifetime, but none greater than his love of fishing. He never seemed more at home than when he had a line in the water. 

    Bob worked most of his adult life as a professional truck driver. He retired with over two million accident free miles. Later in his life, Bob worked as a security guard at Southern Illinois Security, a job he absolutely loved! He met and touched many lives throughout the course of his working life. He will be deeply missed by all. He is leaving behind many relatives and friends. 

    A celebration of Bob's life will take place at the Vermilion Valley Vineyard Church (3733 Poolside Dr Danville, IL 61832) on Saturday February 15th, 2020 from 12 to 6pm. 

    Please come and celebrate this life filled with love, laughter, and the very best fish tales. We hope to see you there!
