Robert William Kirkpatrick, 91, of Westville, passed away at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, November 1, 2014 at VA Illiana Healthcare System, Danville, Illinois. He was born October 7, 1923 in Danville a son of Leslie K. and Cecile E. (Johnson) Kirkpatrick. He married Jewell Mary Cherry May 10, 1948 in Danville, She survives. Also surviving are 2 sons, Anthony C. (Jane) Kirkpatrick of Westville and Robert William Kirkpatrick, II of Philadelphia, PA, a brother, James (Myrna) Kirkpatrick of Muncie, IL, five grandchildren, Lauren and Neil Kirkpatrick of Westville, Shannon Kirkpatrick, Shawn Kirkpatrick and Joshua Kirkpatrick all in Pennsylvania and several great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Maryann Davis.
Robert was a clerk for the Norfolk & Southern Railroad. He owned and operated Kirk’s Creations Rod and Reel Repair Service. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving in WWII in France and Germany. He was a member of St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Georgetown, American Legion Post 51 in Westville, and Knights of Columbus Council 754 in Danville and was a Lifetime Member of the Illini Bass Club. He enjoyed fishing.
Private graveside services will be at Lithuanian National Cemetery in Westville at a later date.
