Roy Boggess Obituary

Roy Harmon Boggess passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021. 

He was born on September 9, 1927 to Roy and Gladys (Kunkle) Boggess. Both preceded him in death along with four brothers and two sisters. He is survived by his sister Pauline Downes. 

He was married to Wanda (Cook) Boggess, and had two sons, Randy and Steve. All preceded him in death.

He also married Melva Guidry who preceded him in death along with his stepsons Gary and Larry. 

He spent the past 32 years married to Ruth Brake (Kingrey) Boggess. She survives along with his stepchildren Danny Kirts, Ted Kirts, and Tina Fraczek.

He joined the Navy at age 17 and served during WWII. Upon his discharge from the Navy, he worked for the CSX Railroad until his retirement. 

He enjoyed working in the garden and putting up vegetables for the winter. He also loves fishing as much as he could. 

Private graveside services will be at Danville National Cemetery.
