Ryan Lankster Obituary

Ryan Eugene Lankster
December 26, 1978 – May 28, 2025

Ryan Eugene Lankster, 46, of Danville, Illinois, passed away on May 28, 2025, doing what he loved — living freely and on his own terms. Though he’s no longer with us, the stories, laughter, and love he shared live on in everyone who knew him. Ryan was the kind of guy who would give you the shirt off his back — and probably help you fix your brakes, mow your lawn, or move a couch while he was at it. He was always willing to lend a hand, offering his help with a quiet smile and no fuss. He spent many years working for Kinney Sewer Service, where he was known for being reliable, hardworking, and the kind of coworker you’d actually want to be stuck on a job with. Ryan loved the outdoors — whether it was casting a line, taking his motorcycle out on a country road, or relaxing with friends around a bonfire. He lived for good times and meaningful moments, often surrounded by those he loved most.

He was a proud father to Austin and Madison Lankster, and a proud grandfather to Preston Lankster— who could always count on him for laughs and love. He is also survived by his siblings Lenora Lankster, Brandon Lankster, and Jenna Jones; his parents Katrina Jones and Harris (Delores) Lankster; his grandmother, June Kinney and his partner Stacey, who stood beside him through life’s twists and turns. He was welcomed in peace by his grandparents William and Annie Lankster, who surely had a fishing pole waiting for him, along with Harold Kinney and his stepfather Keenan Jones, all ready to greet him with love. Ryan wasn’t a man of pretense or big speeches — he showed his love through action, laughter, and loyalty. If you ever shared a fish story, swapped a joke, or rode beside him on the road, you carry a piece of his spirit with you.
