Sally E. (Wood) Johnson

Sally E. Wood Johnson passed away November 20, 2023, at Carle Hospital. She was born February 21, 1950, in Gary, Indiana, to Woodrow and Beverly Wood. Sally and her family later moved to Danville where she grew up out in the Heights.

Sally is survived by her son, Bill (Missy) Johnson, daughter, Carrie Johnson, her cherished grandchildren, Taylor and Cloe Johnson and Ethan Hickman, her brother, Dennis (Jo) Wood, Sisters-in-law, Ruth Granger and Carol Wood, her beloved dog, Blu, as well as many cherished friends. 

Sally always loved baking with her grandchildren.  She loved to study her family’s genealogy. For those that knew Sally, her family was everything to her.  She never knew a stranger.  She made friends wherever she went.

  Sally is preceded in death by her parents, brothers John, Steve and Danny. 

Per Sallys wishes she had a celebration of life where she was able to visit with all her family and friends, therefore, there will be no service.   In lieu of flowers, please make all donations to the Vermilion County Animal Shelter. Online condolences: www.rortvedtfuneralservices.com.
