Salvatore Vincent Marino

Salvatore V Marino, age 74, of Bismarck, IL passed away May 28, 2026. The son of the late Peter S. Marino and the late Marian (Seriani) Marino.  

Salvatore was born July 2, 1951, in Chicago, IL into a large Italian family. His family moved to Oak Forest, IL in 1957, where he attended Arbor Park Middle School and Tinley Park High School. Salvatore worked at Continental Can Company in Chicago where he met and fell in love with his late wife, Donna. They relocated to Bismarck in the late 70's where they both resided for many years. While living in Bismarck he made many friends with neighbors and members of the American Legion Post 210 who grew fond of him. Prior to retiring, he spent his last years working at the Danville VA Medical Center.

He was the beloved husband of the late Donna Johnson; father to Stacey Hartwell (James) and Michelle Smith (Anthony); grandfather to Jacob, Jarrett , Tyler and Alex; dear brother of the late Peter S, late Jake (Mary Ann), late Frank, late Lucia, late Gerard (late Doris) and Peter V; an uncle to many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, and cousin to many. 

A celebration of life arranged by his dear friends will be held at the American Legion Post 210, 201 Prospect Pl. Danville, IL 61832 on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.

Family memorial services will be held at a later date.
