Sharon Burow Obituary

Sharon Lynette Burow (Songer), born May 30th, 1940 in Blytheville, Arkansas, passed away on March 10, 2025 in Danville, Illinois. Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, William Burow, her mother and father, Lloyd and Mary Songer, and her sister Patricia Luke (Songer). She is survived by her son Christopher (Catherine) Burow of Woodbury, MN; her daughter Libbie (Paul Michael) Cline of Danville, IL; and her grandsons, Joshua Burow, Zachary Burow, Nicholas Burow of Woodbury, MN; Brody (Kia) Cline of Champaign, IL; and William Cline of Danville, IL.

Sharon spent much of her life pouring her heart into her church, family, and friends. She found happiness working in her garden and making sure the deer, birds, and neighborhood cats were fed. Sharon loved working with her hands, especially with flowers.  She grew up working in her parents floral shop, Songer Florist, working in the floral department at Jewel-Osco alongside her sister, and teaching horticulture and floral design for several years at DACC. Sharon also spent many years as a cheerleading coach for Immanuel Lutheran School.   She loved to fish and was an avid golfer. She spent many days taking her grandsons fishing and exploring Kennekuk County Park and Kickapoo State Park when they were young. Her grandsons were her pride and joy. Her unconditional love, patience, and selflessness will be missed by all who knew her.

A private family ceremony will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Immanuel Lutheran Church would be appreciated and welcomed and can be made in Sharon's name. Online condolences: www.rortvedtfuneralservices.com.
