Sharon L. Ward, 49, of Westville, IL, gained her angel wings at 3:22 a.m. on Monday, May 31, 2021. She was born on August 12, 1971, to Charlie and Helen Johnson in Danville, IL. She married Andy Weathers in October of 1988; together they had a daughter. She later married Steve Ward in September of 2001; together they had a son.
She is survived by her daughter Kayla (Rob) Harrier of Westville, IL, and son Matthew (Lexi) Ward of Tilton, IL; grandchildren Gracie and Conner Harrier, Luxton Kennedy, and another on the way. Also surviving is one brother, Steve (Ruth) Johnson, of Georgetown, IL; three sisters, Susan (Elmer) High of Washougal, WA, Cathy Reynolds of Georgetown, IL, and Becky (Brian) Underwood of Hoopeston, IL; her boyfriend Chuck Hamilton of Danville, IL; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Sharon was an avid Cardinals fan. She enjoyed fishing, camping, baking, and most of all spending time with her family and friends. She cherished her grand babies, who were the light of her life. She worked for Hillcrest Animal Hospital until her diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis. Sharon was a fighter; she refused to give up and kept fighting until the very end. She will be deeply missed by all whom had the pleasure of knowing her.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, two brothers, Edward Clutter and Charlie Johnson, II, brother-in-law Greg Wright, and special friends Joe and Beth Hartman.
The family would like to thank her nurse Karen, the OSF Hospice team, and the staff of Arcadia Care. A memorial will be on Sunday, June 6, 2021, at 2 p.m., at Bella Marie’s Banquet Center, 1520 N. State Street, Westville, IL 61883, with a dinner to follow.
