Stephen W. "Butch" McMahon

Stephen W. McMahon, 72, passed this life at his home on July 28, 2024after many months of failing health. Stephen was known as Butch to everyone who knew him. Butch was born on April 18, 1952 in Danville, Illinois, a son of Ola and Ferris McMahon. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Joyce Deffenbaugh. He is survived by his siblings, Jerry Bishop, Bill Renneker, Sharon (Don) Wynn, John (Donna) McMahon and Tina (Frank) Pickett and many nieces and nephews.

Butch was a roofer by trade and spent much of his adult life in that profession. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, cruising around in the parks and playing basketball as a child. Butch was a happy, kind- and good-hearted man who will be missed by his family and friends.

A celebration of his life will be on August 25, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Audubon Barn at Forest Glen Preserve. Online condolences: www.rortvedtfuneralservices.com.
