Stewart H. Reiter

Stewart H. Reiter of Charleston, Illinois passed away at Midnight, Sunday April 13, 2025 at Charleston Rehabilitation and Health Care in Charleston. He was born June 28, 1938 in Queens, New York City, New York, the son of Edward F. Reiter Jr and Ethelmay H. Reiter. 

Stew had a beautiful singing voice and loved to entertain people with his vocals. He loved jokes and laughter. He loved to travel and went on several trips with his friend Dennis Kistner. He especially loved Hawaii.

Stew graduated from Peoria High School and spent most of his life in the Peoria and Pekin Illinois area until he moved to Charleston. He was injured in a tragic car accident as a young man and sadly spent his life with a permanent disability.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his stepmother Myrna Harms Reiter, his stepbrother George E (Cub) Harms II and many friends.

Cremation rites were accorded. A private burial service will be held in Springdale Cemetery, Peoria, Illinois where he will be laid to rest beside his father and mother.
