Terrence “Terry” Mitchell, 78, originally of Newton, Iowa, resident of Danville Illinois for the last 14 years, passed away peacefully May 7, 2024, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born December 27,1945 in Des Moines, Iowa. The son of Taft and Suzanne Mitchell. He married Carol Humphrey on September 6, 1969. He is survived by his wife Carol, daughter Kelli Stack (Darin), 2 grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Dawson Stack, a sister, Claranne “Kandi” Petersen, a brother-in-law, David Humphrey (Melanie), a nephew, Charlie McClaran, nieces Lisa Cutler, Michele Reese, Tara Thole (Jason), Jason Humphrey (Kelli), Madison Sexton (Grant), Gabriella “Gabbie” Humphrey, and several great nieces and nephews. He was employed by the Maytag company as a tool and die inspector for 30 years, retiring in 1999. He then went on to do professional photography at Memories by Mitchell. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was a member of the American legion Post 210, a member of the Post 210 Honor Guard, and volunteered at the Vermilion County War Museum. He was preceded in death by his father, and mother, mother-in-law and father-in-law.
In remembrance of Terry Mitchell's life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to The American Heart Association or your favorite charity.
The postponed service originally scheduled for Saturday, May 18 has been rescheduled for Saturday, June 29, 2024.
