Terry Lee Lomax
August 4, 1958 – February 6, 2023
Terry Lee Lomax, 64, of Westville passed away unexpectedly February 6th , 2023 at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center in Danville, Illinois. Terry was born August 4 th , 1958 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Illinois; the son of Robert L. Lomax and Judith A. Robinson. His mother and sister Debra Lomax-Thompson preceded him in death.
Surviving family include his wife of more than 44 years Jeanette Lomax (Wright); two daughters: Savannah Lomax (Spencer Tolson) of Westville, and Hannah Lomax (Anthony Thompson) of Georgetown; two grandchildren: Sophie and Fredrick Thompson; his father Robert Lomax of Obrien, Florida; brother Jerry (Rita) Lomax of Cayuga, IN; and other extended family and good friends. Terry graduated from Catlin High School in 1978, where he competed in wresting and was active in the FFA. After graduation he worked at Hyster-Yale. He continued on to become a millwright at Heatcraft/Bohn Aluminum for more than 20 years and he finally retired from Bunge Milling in 2022 after another 20+ years of service.
Terry never knew a stranger, if he didn’t run into someone that he knew while he was out and about he would become fast friends with someone new. He loved riding his motorcycle in the summer, helping Jean in the garden, and playing with his terriers Paloma and Pixie. He was a champion powerlifter and held records in the Next Generation Powerlifting Federation and he loved deadlifting. He also loved to travel – in the past few years he went to Tennessee, Florida, New Mexico, and California. He was a true family man; he was always the first one that they called with good news or bad and he would drop everything at anytime to help them. He will be profoundly missed by “his girls.”
Arrangements are being handled by Rortvedt Funeral Services and Crematory. A celebration of life will be held March 26 th 2023 at the Tilton Community Center (612 W. 5 th Street, Tilton, Il) from 2-5pm. Wear your brightest/most colorful shirt; Terry loved his highlighter-colored shirts.
