Thomas (Tomcat) Howie

Tom “Tomcat” Howie, 61, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 25th, 2025, after a short battle with cancer.

Born July 30th, 1963, at home in State Line City, Indiana to Earl and Eva (Schuler) Howie. Later raised by Earl and Betty Howie after his mother's unexpected and early passing. He married
Aileen (Motsay) Howie on February 21st, 2025. She survives him.

He is survived by his children, Chasity Galey of Danville, IL, Brittanie (Marco) Galey of Tilton, IL, Ben (Aimie) Howie of Rankin, IL, Dylan (Kayla) Howie of Cayuga, IN, Frankie (Ashley) Motsay
of Allendale, MI and Aiden Galey of Danville, IL. Grandchildren, Elli, Emma, Aubriella, Waylon, Payton, Jaxon, Gabriel, Ryleigh, Penelope and Vanessa. Brothers; John Howie of Potomac, IL,
Tony (Linda) Howie of O’Fallon, IL, Les (Rebecca) Howie of Sevierville, TN, Jerry (Kim) Hickman of Potomac, IL, Mike (Lisa) Howie of Potomac, IL, and brother-in-law, Tony Rakes of Potomac, IL; sisters, Edith (David) Cook of Bismarck, IL, Robin (Bill) Walsh of Roachdale, IN, sister-in-law, Rose Walker of Danville, IL and several nieces and nephews. Also, we can’t forget about his loyal companions, Charlie and Jackass.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers-Glenn, Ronnie, Doug and Dwayne, sister-Linda Rakes, granddaughter-Kodi Rae Howie and very good friends Jack Kane and Larry Gray.
Tomcat graduated from Potomac High School in 1982. He worked at Jeld-Wen in Rantoul for 39 years. He enjoyed woodworking, riding Harleys, cooking out on the deck he built himself and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends. His creativity and passion for woodworking came out in his projects that he would envision and then build from scratch. He enjoyed coaching his boys and their friends in baseball as they grew up and later switched to umpiring, where he would umpire softball tournaments in Indiana. He never knew a stranger and lit up every room he entered with his “sweet” dance moves. He was outgoing, rambunctious and all around a fun and loving person to be around.

A party/celebration of life will be announced by the family at a later date.
