With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Tammy Martin at 11:36 A.M. on February 28th, 2025, at the age of 61; she passed peacefully in her home. Tammy was a bright light in the lives of those who knew her, radiating joy, kindness, and an innocent spirit that touched everyone she met.
Born on June 2nd, 1963, in Chicago, IL, Tammy lived a life full of love, laughter, and the simple joys that made every day special. For many years, Tammy was lovingly cared for by her mother, Beverly Martin, until her passing, and later by her sister, Tina Martin, who ensured she had a life full of warmth, safety, and happiness. Despite the challenges she faced, she found happiness in game shows, reading, finding comfort in her Bible, smiling and dancing for people, and always bringing smiles to those around her. Tammy’s presence will be deeply missed.
Tammy is survived by many in the Danville, Illinois area including her sister and primary caregiver, Tina Martin; her brother-in-law, Jeff Rosner; and several nieces and nephews: Erica McDaniel (Rosner), Thomas Martin, Jade Shepherd (Rosner), Ty Rosner, Anjel Rosner, and Shane Rosner. She is also survived by several grand-nieces and nephews: Aubrey McDaniel, Ava McDaniel, Alexandra (Lexi) McDaniel, Olivia Shepherd, Emily Shepherd, Carly Shepherd, Audrey Wilkus, Penn Rosner, Eames Rosner, Clementine Rosner, and Josephine Rosner. She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Martin; her mother, Beverly Martin (Nixon); and her sister, Theresa Martin.
At this time, the family is focusing on honoring Tammy’s memory in a way that reflects her beautiful spirit. Details surrounding a Celebration of Life will be announced in the days to come.
In lieu of flowers, the family appreciates donations to assist with final expenses. Contributions can be made through a GoFundMe link under the name of Tammy Martin.
Though she is no longer with us, the love Tammy shared will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.” - Matthew 5:8
