Truman “Tony” Orwood Curry, Jr. passed away on June 12, 2026, in Danville, Illinois, at the age of 83. Born on November 5, 1942, to Truman Curry, Sr. and Betty Gillis, Tony grew up alongside his five brothers.
Tony was married to Sharon (Van Duyn) Curry, whom he lovingly cared for until her passing in 2014. He worked as a millwright and enjoyed traveling for both work and leisure. Tony cherished spending time outdoors, often accompanied by a beloved dog.
Tony was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sharon Curry; his son, Tony Curry; his step-son, Kevin Hannan; four brothers, Ronnie, Greg, Bruce, and Jeff; and grandson, Joshua Witsman.
He is survived by his brother, Michael Curry; three stepdaughters; six grandchildren, Daphne (Jason) Atwood, Adam (Hannah) Witsman, Tabitha (Clint) Roller, Whitney Warren, Courtney (Donald Crews) Warren, and Zachary (Mandy) Wills; twelve great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his close friend, Gene Nelson.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Accolade Healthcare for their compassionate care. In accordance with Tony’s wishes, there will be no funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Danville in honor of Tony’s love for animals.
