Verle Richard Austin

Verle Richard Austin, 78, of Georgetown, Illinois passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at the Danville VA Illiana Health Care System while surrounded by family at approximately 9:25 PM.  

He was born February 1, 1939 to parents Williams E. Austin (D) and Virginia F. (Glenn) Austin (D) in Georgetown, Il.  He attended Georgetown schools and participated in sports. Verle enlisted in the army to serve our country and was honorably discharged. He attended Illinois State University and successfully received his bachelor’s degree. He was a farmer, landscaper, educator, and sales manager throughout his time with us. He loved playing/watching basketball, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents William E Austin and Virginia F (Glenn) Austin, a brother William C Austin, and a sister Felicia A Austin.
He is survived by his children: son Verle A Austin, daughter Felicia P (Austin) Adkins, daughter Jeri A Austin and son Anthony SD Austin, Grandchildren: Skyler A Austin Dominic A Austin, Kayton M Austin: brother Milton L Austin, many nephews, nieces, cousins, in-laws and close friends.

The visitation services will take place on Sunday February 26, 2017 from 4 PM - 6:30 PM at the VA catholic chapel and the grave side funeral service will be on 11 a.m. sharp Monday February 27, 2017 at the Danville  National Cemetery.  If you would like to send flowers, please send them to the VA catholic chapel.
