Vickie Lynn (Lee) VanMeter

Vickie Lynn Lee VanMeter, 66, passed away on June 28, 2026, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana. She was born on November 4, 1959, in Danville-Rantoul, IL to her parents, Jesse and Dorothy Lee.

Vickie had a vast love for God, family and her pets, Daisy, Fiea, and friends. Her time with her pets, Daisy, Fiea, Scarlet, Johni Lou, and Kammie Lynn brought her immense joy. The joy to feel the evening, blissful, cool snow, hitting upon her face while riding her wheelchair during the early evening was something she thoroughly enjoyed. Her identical twin sister, Vera, and she enjoyed rolling through the leaves hearing the sound of the crunch and the smell of the fall and spring time. The love of nature!! Foremost, Vickie relished in quality time spent with her nieces and nephews and a large number of grandchildren!

Vickie had 8 siblings, Sandra (Donald) Curtis, Janice (Francis) Gordon, Jacqueline Lee, Johnny (Cheryl) Lee, Dorothy (Glen) Williams, Betty (Bruce) Cary, Brenda Lee, and her twin sister, Vera Lee.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, George “Buck” VanMeter; father, Jesse Lee; sisters, Jackie, Betty, Brenda, and Vera Lee; and survived by her mother, Dorothy Lee.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. with a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Hope Unlimited Church, 428 N. Walnut St. Danville, IL 61832. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Pastor Ryan Harris officiating.
