Victor “Vic” Allen McFadden, 82, of Danville, IL, passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at horizon Health Hospital in Paris, IL, of natural causes. He was born on April 4, 1943, in Danville, IL to Virgil A. McFadden and Lois Sanks.
Vic started working at the age of 14 for Jocko’s, later in life he was employed at Clark’s gas station, Kroger, and he eventually retired in 2008 after 43 years of dedicated service to Hyster in Danville. Vic graduated from Westville High School in 1961, and shortly after married Sue Hampton in Danville, IL. They divorced in 1980. Vic then married Nancy Cottle Sanks in Henning, IL in 1983, and was married until her death on November 20, 2025.
He spent as much of his adult life on two wheels as it would allow and enjoyed bike races with his friends. Vic and Nancy rode their bike from Gettysburg, to Yellowstone, to the four corners and back. They spend many summers in Casey Key, FL, making some of their fondest memories. Vic was a devout member and deacon of Christian Union Church, Covington, IN for nearly 20 years.
Vic is survived by his three sons, Victor Jr., David, and Timothy McFadden; two stepchildren, Angelinda Sanks and Mikel Sanks Jr.; three siblings, Gary, Keith, and Kevin McFadden; 15 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. EDT at Christian Union Church, 1974 N. 1550 E. Covington, IN.
