Walter Curtis "Curt" Winslow

Walter Curtis Winslow, 87, of Danville passed away December 7, 2025, at his home. He was born February 22, 1938, in Danville, to William and Pearl (Morgan) Winslow.

He married M. Pauline Pate on November 20, 1960. He later married Sharon Kaye Dokey on December 27, 1974. In his many travels he made it to 46 out of 48 continuous states. Curt never met a stranger, and in his spare time he enjoyed playing cards, shooting pool and singing karaoke.

Curt was preceded in death by his father, William Winslow; mother, Pearl Potts; his wife of 50 years, Sharon Winslow; granddaughter in law, Katie Sykes; son in law, John McCoy; and daughter in law, Kathy Dokey.

He is survived by his six children, Richard (Vanetta) Winslow of Danville, IL, Richard (Darlena) Dokey of Peoria, IL, Vicky (Vic) Sykes of Macon, GA, Vicki McCoy of Danville, IL, Cindy (Kevin Gillen) O’Neil of Danville, IL, and Doug Dokey of Danville, IL;14 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; and 9 great great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life for Curt will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity.
