Warren Hershberger Obituary

Warren W. Hershberger, 72, of Danville passed away on Tuesday, February 16th, 2021 at Carle Hospital in Hoopeston, Illinois due to complications from Alzheimer’s disease. Warren was born on October 19th, 1948 in Danville, Illinois the only child of Walter and Gloria (Stevens) Hershberger. Warren married Cris (Richards) on July 12, 1980 in Danville, Illinois, she survives. He was preceded in death by his parents.

                He also leaves behind three children and five grandchildren – daughter Anna (Robert) Ryan and their two daughters, Emily and Charley of Odessa, Florida, son Kyle (Joy) Hershberger and their two sons, Kellen and Kasen of Normal, Illinois, and daughter Kara (Lisa Flamion) Hershberger and their son Noah of Brentwood, Missouri.

                Warren graduated from Danville High School in 1966 and went on to Southern Illinois University and received a Bachelor’s degree in English, and then a Master’s degree in Education from Eastern Illinois University. He taught high school in Grayville and Potomac, Illinois and at Schlarman High School in Danville, Illinois. Warren sold insurance for many years and worked for several radio stations in Danville and Champaign. He was a Scottish Rite Mason and Past Master of Olive Branch Lodge 38. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

                According to his wishes cremation rites will be accorded. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
