Wayne Ford Obituary

Wayne A. Ford passed away on September 16, 2024, at the age of 80 in Danville, Illinois. Born on April 20, 1944, in Danville Illinois, Wayne led a life marked by his diverse talents and deep love for his family. Wayne was truly one of a kind, with a personality that could only be described as unique. He cherished time spent with his loved ones above all else. His skills were diverse; he was an accomplished jeweler, skilled gunsmith, enthusiastic gardener, quality shoemaker, and adept cook–particularly over a campfire. Wayne was renowned for his pies which many would argue were unrivaled. His passion for history was evident in his dedication to reenactment, where he brought historical events to life with remarkable authenticity.

He leaves behind a loving family, including his brother, Kenneth (Carol) Ford, his sister, Alyce Marion; and his children: David Ford and his wife Penny, Danny Ford and his wife Michelle, and Jennifer Curry and her partner Brandon. Wayne was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren who will miss his presence deeply. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife of 44 years Joyce Ford, companion Sandra Lappin and his brother Jerry Ford (Linda)
