William Boswell Obituary

William “Bill” Allen Boswell, 63, passed away Monday, February 10th at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois from his battle with cancer.  His life’s journey began February 21, 1956, when he was born to Donald Lee Boswell, Sr. and Eva Louise Crow. After his graduation from Ben Davis High School in 1974, Bill went on to serve in the Air Force from 1975 to 1983 as an Aircraft Electrical Systems Technician.  He went on to earn a Bachelor of Science in Electronics Technology in 1988.  He has spent the past 17 years working for the Illinois Department of Employment Security.

Bill has enjoyed spending time with friends and family.  He was quite the storyteller and had a wonderful sense of humor.  He always had the ability to make everyone laugh around him.  His big belly laugh was contagious to all.  He was a huge fan of the Chicago Cubs and enjoyed attending as many games as possible.

Bill had such a deep compassion for others.  He was selfless and often put others needs before his own.  He had the ability to provide comfort not only to his friends and family but also his clients and colleagues.  Bill was loved by many and will be truly missed.

Bill Boswell is preceded in death by his father, Donald Lee Boswell, Sr. and his mother, Eva Crow-Pickett, stepfather Don Pickett, brother, Donald Lee Boswell, Jr. and granddaughter, Adrianna Martinez.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Boswell, his daughters, Jessica Whitaker, Sarah Hester and Katie Boswell, grandchildren Marissa, Christian, Angelina, Emily and Ethan as well as three brothers, and one sister and many nieces and nephews.
